Along la Route du Vignoble de la Côte there are many wine villages. While Signy is not on the route, it is still a typical wine village on la Côte.
September is the month to harvest grapes for making wine. The vines are now plentiful with grapes.
The rows of vineyards stretch from the mountains to the lake.
With a very hot summer 2010, this year's wines should be excellent.
Along with wine vineyards, the village also has apple orchards and one can buy fresh apple juice.
Each village has a local producer and here in Signy, the Cave Tecon is where you can taste and buy the local wine.
This blog is primarily intended to display photos and comments about them.

La Route du Vignoble de la Côte
A true flow of emotions, La Côte is firstly a delight to the eyes, with the shores of Lake Leman and a spectacular view of the Alps and the Mont-Blanc. Situated between Geneva and Lausanne the region has all the elements one could dream of. Encounter the residents, artists and craftsmen. Also explore the villages that line the route.
The following are pictures taken in Brusins. The purpose is to take the same picture in color, black & white, and sepia and see what a different story each image tells.
Views of l'Eglise de Brusins
In the two pictures immediately above, the objective was to have the steeple in focus. In the two pictures below, the goal was to have the gate in focus, thus using a shallow deepth of field.
The last three images are from the same location, but in color, black& white, and sepia.

The Life of a Bee
One of the great things about summer is that there are so many things to photograph. Here are some pictures of a bee who was enjoying a rose in the garden.
It is not so easy to photograph a bee, because it is constantly moving and you have no idea where it is going next.
However, the goal of the exercise is to work on composition and depth-of-field.
